Teamwork makes the…

This month’s blog post is being shared by our own, Scott Hobbs. Scott is a full-time fully dedicated agent who always puts his clients first, after his family of course. Scott recently underwent shoulder surgery and was out of commission for 6 weeks. Here he shares his experience of being ‘down and out for 6 weeks’ and how he overcame the challenge:

“Eight weeks ago, I underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. Fortunately, my recovery is going very well, and I’m happy to say the hardest part is now behind me. That said, not being able to drive for six weeks was a major challenge—especially as a realtor, where mobility is key.

It may sound simple, but being present is one of the most important traits of a successful real estate agent. Whether it’s meeting buyers for showings, spending time in the office, attending broker and public open houses to stay informed on local inventory, or taking part in CE training and professional development, this business is built on being physically involved.

Remarkably, despite my temporary absence, my business barely skipped a beat. That’s thanks to the incredible support from my broker, my colleagues at Salt + Cedar Properties, and my understanding clients. While I was healing, one deal in progress closed seamlessly with the help of a teammate. Several buyer showings were covered by fellow agents, and one even led to a successful offer and acceptance—without me needing to be there in person.

Let me be clear: in this industry, that kind of support isn’t something you see every day.

To everyone who stepped up, checked in, and allowed me the time and space to focus on healing—thank you. Your generosity and teamwork meant the world to me, and I won’t forget it.

I am truly grateful.”

Scott, we are truly grateful for your healing and continued support as one of the top agents in our brokerage. We would not be us without you and we were happy to help carry the workload while you were healing. As the saying goes, teamwork really does make the dream work.
